Simon Kujawa is customer services director at Technology Services Group (TSG), the rapidly expanding business IT solutions group that offers hardware, software and support to small and medium sized businesses.

Simon’s background is in manufacturing. He is passionate about adapting the skills and principles he learned in that sector to benefit his new service sector clients and so ensure that the highest quality of customer care is delivered at all times.

Established little more than a year ago, TSG has expanded rapidly from its Newcastle-upon-Tyne base through the acquisition of successful regional independent IT service companies. 

With over 9,000 customers, TSG now has service centres throughout the UK, with local experts offering Accounting software, business networks and a full IT service package to keep customer IT systems running efficiently.

The Millennium Bridge

Opened in September 2001, the Gateshead Millennium Bridge is a triumph of design and engineering.  Thanks to the combined expertise and innovation of architects Wilkinson Eyre and engineers Gifford and Partners, not only does the bridge feature stunning, modern lines, but it also boasts a world-first tilting mechanism used to open and close the bridge like a giant eyelid.

It is the latest addition to the Tyne’s famous collection of bridges, which have given Tyneside one of the most distinctive and recognisable skylines in Europe.

The bridge links the new arts and cultural developments of Baltic and The Sage Gateshead on Gateshead Quays on the south bank of the river with Newcastle Quayside on the north side.

The bridge can open for ships to pass through in just four minutes, powered by eight highly energy-efficient electric motors delivering a massive 589 horsepower.  It is the only purpose-built bridge for cyclists across the river and joins two cross-country riverside cycleways, which form part of a national network.

By day, the bridge is white, but at night, a multi-coloured light show transforms it and creates beautiful reflections on the water.
